Kelly: Three Months

Look at me! I'm three months old and loving life!

The biggest update this month is that Kelly has started school because Mommy is back to work. So far, things are going great. She's in the same room Shannon was in as an infant so we know already know her teachers. It took her a little bit to get used to bottles during the day, but she's doing well. And she'll have her pick of boyfriends...she's one of only 2 girls in her room right now.

Tricks... this girl is s-t-r-o-n-g. She's holding her head really well, can roll from front to back (first did this at 3 weeks!), and is getting close to going from back to front too. She loves being on her feet.

She can grab objects now and likes to eat her shirt. Shannon has also learned the hard way that Kelly likes to pull and eat hair. "Mommy! Help! Baby! Hair!"

Fake sneezes are guaranteed to get a smile and Kelly can hold her own in a baby conversation.

PS. Thanks Liz for the reminder phone call. The post might be late, but the picture was taken on time!

Happy Anniversa-reeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

On June 22, we'll be celebrating our 7th wedding anniversary. Instead of the traditional wool or copper gifts, we gave each other the gift of... zipline.

A local "ski resort" (sorry, after living in Colorado I'm a total mountain snob) has created what they call a canopy tour. You take a chair lift up to the top and then work your way down the mountain going from platform to platform. Some of the platforms are connected by ziplines that you whiz down quickly (the fastest one has you cruising at about35 mph) and others are connected by challenges (bridges to cross, hanging vines to swing from, a rope to crawl along upside-down, military-style).

"Look Mom! No hands!"

We were out there for about 2 hours and by the last zip, Chris was feeling brave enough to go upside down.

All in all, the day was a blast. Almost as much fun as being married to the best guy ever. Love you, Chris!

Beach Pics

Finally! Some pics from our trip to Virginia Beach. Shannon continues to be a big fan of the ocean.

She also had a lot of fun playing in the sand this time.

(Look what the professional sand castle-builder made!)

Left to right are Uncle Pat, Uncle Mike and Aunt Hanna. Doesn't this picture look fake? Like a weather forecast set?

All week we heard "Nam-ma, nam-ma!" but was this seriously the only shot I got of my Mom and Dad? Oops...

Even Miss Kelly got in on the beach action.

(Feel like you've already seen this pic? Maybe you're thinking of this.)

And lastly, in case you were wondering where Shannon gets her crazy hair from...

Happy Summer!

Traveling with Two Under Two

More pics of the trip itself to come soon, but I couldn't resist this pair of photos.

Two Months

Here's Miss Kelly at two(ish) months. Will somebody send me an email every month around the 16th? Otherwise, I think we're going to have a lot of (ish) elephant photos!

She's a great sleeper (I'm not supposed to say that out loud, am I?) and her tummy seems to be giving her less trouble as she gets older. She's loves to eat and chows quite frequently throughout the day. At her two month visit to the pediatrician she was 12 pounds and 12 ounces.

When Kelly's fussy, we do the "shh-shh" dance.

Her current nickname is Big Eyes. (Yep, we're pretty witty around here.)

Kelly is smiling, cooing and babbling up a storm. She gives her biggest grins to her big sister and that other baby in the mirror on her playmat.

Irises

The previous owners of our house were gardeners and we inherited some beautiful trees, shrubs and perennials. (We've also inherited all of their wacky homegrown weed control ideas from over the years; we've pulled out fabric, carpets, trash bags, screens, mesh, rocks, etc from our beds outside!)

Right now all of the irises are in bloom and they are gorgeous. A perfect excuse for a photo shoot!

I got these shots by telling her that there might be candy inside. :) So now we call them candy flowers.

Look at the size of these guys!

Didn't want Kelly to miss out on modeling the blooms, so I brought one inside.

Who can resist a nakey baby?
